SantaCon to hit Coconut Grove tonight
SantaCon is hitting the Grove tonight, don't be surprised if somewhere, somehow, some time when you least expect it, you look up and see lots of Santas partying around the village! The image above is from last year's SantaCon in Washington Square Park in NYC.
SantaCon is a mass gathering of people dressed in Santa Claus costumes parading publicly on streets and in bars in cities around the world. The focus is on spontaneity and creativity, while having a good time and spreading cheer and goodwill. The biggest one is in NY.
The Santas are going to meet at Barracuda on Fuller Street, tonight, December 17, at 6 pm and basically spread around Coconut Grove bars and restaurants. You don't know where they'll pop up, mostly bars and restaurants. So you have from now until 6 pm to find a Santa suit if you would like to join in. We'll be there, of course, covering the event.
