Replace absent Village Council members?
State law suggests that if a member misses four consecutive meetings, they should be removed. Some would like it to be four meetings, period, whether they are consecutive or not.
It is the feeling that members were voted in by a trusting public who wanted their candidates to actually show up at meetings. Many of us are in the audience month after month, but so far, I don't think there has been a full council of all nine members, maybe once or twice, but for the past several months, there has not been a full council and some members leave right in the middle of a meeting.
And then they want to know why the public is not interested. If the council members can't be bothered to show up for meetings, why should the public? Maybe they should make the meetings quarterly, which is what the Village of Center Grove does now.
