Grovite named Chair of Dade Legislative Delegation

The Miami-Dade County Legislative Delegation has chosen a new Chairman for 2011. Representative and incoming House Majority Leader Coconut Grovite Carlos Lopez-Cantera will replace Representative Juan C. Zapata as Chairman of the Delegation.

“I thank my fellow members for their confidence and the privilege to serve as Chairman of the Delegation. I look forward to working with our colleagues in County government and from around the state, to address Miami-Dade’s critical issues”, stated Chairman Lopez-Cantera upon being selected.

Representative Lopez-Cantera was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2004 from District 113. In addition to serving as House Majority Whip during the 2009-2010 legislative term, he sat on the Rules and Calendar Council, the Elder and Long Term Care Committee, the Property Tax Reform Committee, and was Chairman of the Business Regulation Committee.
