Big Halloween weekend in Coconut Grove
Halloween in Coconut Grove is gonna be the thing this year. There's something big going on for three days in a row.
The Great Pumpkin Carving Contest is Friday, October 29 at Fuller Street, a big block party with not only the pumpkin carving contest but also a costume contest and a pet costume contest. You can see all the details here. The Grove Spot has a big party planned for that night, too. Billed as the "hottest and sexiest," there is a costume contest and lots of DJ's sharing the turntable. Entrance fee is $5.00.
Then on Saturday, October 30, The Taurus is getting in the Halloween spirit with a big Halloween Party called the Monster Mash Bash. It's a new tradition at the Grove's legendary bar. The party is from 8 pm to midnight with a live DJ, a Costume Contest and Drink Specials. Great prizes (including a weekend for two at The South Beach Hilton) will be awarded for the best costumes. Since The Taurus is legendary, please dress as your favorite legend, dead or alive, and win for being the Ghostest with the Mostest!
Also, Saturday is the Vizcayans Halloween Party from 8 pm to midnight.
And then of course, on Halloween night, October 31, as happens every year, the Center Grove fills up with the wildest and craziest people all decked out with one costume better than the next. Right in front of CocoWalk the fun begins and it spreads out all over the village. The streets end up being closed and the party goes on all night.
And of course to get your party started, the Spirit Halloween store is open at Virginia and Grand with lots of costumes and things to make it a great Halloween.
