It's gonna be a busy Labor Day weekend

This weekend in Coconut Grove is going to be a busy one.

Two big events happen Saturday: The Gallery Walk and the Pajama Pub Crawl and the main event on Sunday is the Great Grove Bed Race.

The Gallery Walk is from 7 to 10 pm and as usual, encompasses the whole Center Grove. All the Galleries will be open with new and exciting exhibits, they'll all feature refreshments and most will have the featured artits in attendance.

The Mayfair Promenade has the Art Stroll, which consists of art, music and free food and drinks up and down the promenade. The Miami Conservatory of Music will feature students as well, performing out near the fountain. The Mayfair Antique Market is open and features lots of artsty, groovy stuff, too.

Sunday is the Bed Race Day, the whole day is filled with activities from the Children's Pajama Party staring at 11 am on a closed Virginia Street. Free events include music, stage productions, reading stories, and lots of games and prizes.

The decorated beds will start lining up on Commodore Plaza (Pit Row) at 11 am on Sunday, where they will be judged and shown off to the public. At 2 pm, the actual Bed Races start at McDonald Street, it starts further back this year than last year and it ends at Matilda Street. The beds race in two by two time trials. Thousands of people will be here for the event, arrive early.

Bars and restaurants and many stores will offer Great Grove Bed Race specials for the day. Come out and enjoy a long, fun holiday weekend!

There is plenty of parking in the surrounding parking lots and garages, which are only a block away from the Center Grove. There are 4800 parking spots for your accommodation.
