"Tres" exhibit brings three locals home

art1
Three artists who originated in South Florida are coming home to showcase their art this month. Ray Lopez, Juan Travieso, and Reinier Gamboa are all South Florida natives who graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Meet them at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery (3390 Mary Street, suite 128), where they will have their first Miami appearance. The above image is by Juan Travieso.

“Tres,” is premiering, an art exhibit of contemporary works, on Gallery Walk night Saturday, August 7, with a reception from 7 to 10 pm. Below is a piece by Ray Lopez.

“These artists are not only local, but are also former students of Miami’s own New World School of the Arts High School,” said Lilia Garcia, gallery curator. “They chose the Arts Festival’s gallery because they wanted to return to their artistic roots and envelop all phases of this community with their art. Their work will be a wonderful addition to Miami’s ever-changing art scene.”
The exhibition runs through August 31, 2010

The Grove Gallery Walk takes places the first Saturday of every month. Other galleries featured in the Walk include Blue Moon Studio of Art, Cristina Chacon Studio/Gallery, Dharma Studio, Grove House Artists, Max in the Grove, Nomade Art Gallery and Windisch-Hunt Fine Art.
