Still enjoying all the comfort food at Lulu
There are two things I love about Lulu one is that you always run into people you know there and the other is of course, the food. Here's my friend Larry, in the white shirt, for instance, who happened to be there one night with other friends we knew. During the day, we see many familiar faces at lunch.
There is a 50% off coupon running through the weekend at Dealtificate for Lulu. Buy it now, use it from now until February 2011!
We tend to order a lot at restaurants and the good thing about Lulu is that you can treat it as a Tapas type of place, there are so many good things on the "Small Plates" side of the menu that you can mix and match and have that as a whole meal. Here, from left, going clockwise are the Fried Green Tomatoes ($6.00), Kobe Beef Slider ($5.00), Goat Cheese Croquettes ($6.00) and the Roasted Dates ($7.00).
One of my favorite lunch sandwiches is the Mahi Mahi, blackened, which comes with sliced mangos in the whole grain bread, with asparagus on the side ($14.00).
I've eaten in and taken out many times and am always happy with the food -- all comfort food on the menu it seems. Lulu, as I am sure you know, is at 3105 Commodore Plaza, they are open for lunch and dinner. They may be reached at 305-447-5858.
We are hoping they open for breakfast soon, they could well accommodate the overflow from Greenstreets, their sister restaurant across the street, and I can just imagine what a tapas-style breakfast and all the comfort food on that menu would be like.
