Filthy shoreline needs to be cleaned

Grovite Jody Finver sent this photo and email in:

"A friend and her two small kids came to visit today from Hollywood. We went to Kennedy Park and saw the new fitness equipment then we walked up to the water. It suddenly felt like we were in a slum. The amount of garbage that was littering the mangroves and floating in the water was revolting. Do you know if there's going to be a bay clean up or if any of our tax dollars will go towards cleaning up the trash throughout the park? It's really disgusting and ironic that it's right near the outdoor gym station."

We explained that this was the situation daily. Guess it's filth from boaters mostly. There are a couple of clean-ups a year, but this is the daily situation. We have had friends who have gone out to clean up on their own, maybe we should start a monthly clean up group to just go and clean the shore.

It's like this at Peacock Park, too. Pictures of that filth here.
