Busking festival is a possibility
Don't know what busking is? Picture the performers at Key West on the pier at Sunset.
This from Wikipedia on Busking: "Busking is the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities. People engaging in this practice are called buskers. Buskers may also be known as street performers, street musicians, minstrels or troubadours."
The Grove buskers could include fire eaters, tight rope walkers and other circus-type acts.
This is in the talking stages, but at the BID meeting last week, Elias Joseph (left) from the All Star Circus, who you may remember from the Circus, Circus night gallery event in February, presented what he could bring to the Grove.
Saturday July 3 is being considered so it will be part of a long July 4th weekend. It could also be a monthly event through the summer. The BID is willing to help with funding and local hotels may be willing to put up the Buskers who come in from out of town. Stay tuned.
