Baynanza now in 28th year of celebrating the bay
Baynanza is coming up, the six-week celebration of Biscayne Bay. Now in it's 28th year, Baynanza is even more special this year in that it is also celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.
One major part of Baynanza is Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day, where volunteers clean up the waterfront throughout the county. Four sites are designated for cleanup in the Grove: Vizcaya, Kennedy Park, Shake-A-Leg and Peacock Park. This year, Cleanup Day is Saturday, April 17 from 9 am to noon.
Last year over 8500 people participated and had a great day of making our parks look good by cleaning the environment.
To get in on the cleanup and other Baynanza activities, please visit their site here. There is a form to join the clean up and there are other activities listed.
