Will the chilly weather affect the Great Taste?
People don't seem to like going out for lunch and especially dinner when it is cold.
One restaurant owner told me long ago that cold weather in Miami is not good for business and just the other night, one of the organizers of the Great Taste of the Grove told me that there was a concern about the temps being in the 50s all day Saturday and Sunday and then dropping to the 30s at night. According to the weather service, the high on Saturday will be 52 degrees and on Sunday 54.
They ordered a third large tent this year which was to shade people from the usually hot sun, now they may need to add heaters, which may not work under tents. But the real trick now is to get people to actually leave their houses to come to the event. I'll be there, I hope you will, too.
I remember a few years ago, it was very cold one Sunday for the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, yet people were out. The coffee and hot chocolate booth did the most business day, but people still came out, albeit all bundled up.

The forecast also calls for rain. Cold weather wouldn't be so bad for the event....but cold + rainy could be detrimental.
How about Hot Buttered Rum ?

Yes, I'm seeing rain on saturday afternoon and evening - that will kill it. What's worse than being cold - being wet and cold.
I'm guessing the crowd will be cut in half. It's a shame, but you can't control the weather.
It would be nice if the weather is truly horrible the vendors could offer "curb service".
I am sure they will have hot coffee and maybe hot chocolate. This is your chance to put on your boots and scarves and come out and enjoy the Grove and some great live entertainment including Joe Donato on Saturday.
It's a rare opportunity to get out those clothes you seldom get a chance to wear! Show off your cold-weather gear!
I'll be manning the phones from 12 - 2 on Sat from inside the Glass House. Visitors welcome!
I will probably walk down and go to the Taste, but doubt i will eat anything. It will be tough for the vendors to provide warm food on such a chilly day that I don't think it will be worth the cost.
