Back by popular demand, Suenalo will perform at CocoWalk tonight, Friday, January 8, from 8 to 10 pm. Suenalo packed the crowds in last summer for one of the Block Parties and they are sure to draw a crowd for their Afro-Cuban, Latin and R&B sound tonight.
And for a little more subdued music, check out John and Niki at the Mayfair Promenade where they will be performing show tunes at the Friday night Happy Hour, where the drinks and food are complimentary and you can sing along, too.

I cannot stress how much Magic Hat #9 sucks. It's horrendous.
Now that is one hell of blog post!!!
I just sent that around to some friends. Lots of effort being put out to create a good time, and I'll be out there ensuring that it's had.
John & Niki at the Mayfair Promenade are so much fun. I recall John pulling over a group of tourists and forming a line dance, kicking their feet to "New York, New York"! Cheesy, maybe, but I had a smile for the rest of the evening :)
Dear Eldouchenozzle - There can be no question that opinions do vary. I for instance took one look at your blog and thought, "this guy is a bigger clown than those kids on The Jersey Shore." That said, I normally call you out, except that your bold statement is both wrong and unnecesarily bold.
Personally, I like the #9, and many other magic hat beers. I also know that it's one of the most popular micros ever made. Thus, it appears your opinion is in the minority. Opinions are fine, but unbridled attitude of that nature simply advises the rest of us to ignore your pretentiousness.
Hey Grape, not for nothin' but the Ivy in the Grove has nothing to do with the one in London as originally reported here and from other news outlets. Just found that out recently and thought you'd like to know.
According to their website, while Raffles is the same as the one in Chelsea, they note, "Please note that we are not affiliated with the Ivy in London nor the Ivy in Los Angeles." It's kinda buried away in the About Us section of the Raffles tab.
Tim and Bill the owners were previously involved with the other Ivy's in LA and London. They started them, promoted them, got them to be what they are and moved on to this one in the Grove. In fact, they promote the other ones on their websites in the press section. Not sure why this is an issue.
Magic Hat makes wonderful beers and treats its employees in South Burlington, VT incredibly well. I'm proud to offer it in my home (I still drive back to Coconut Grove from up north loaded with boxes of Magic Hat, Longtrail, and a few random growlers).
Use your words eldesaparecido to explain why you feel #9 does not merit the high level of respect it holds in the beer brewing community? What about the taste is "horrendous" in your view? Please, enlighten us? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but take the step to articulate the grounds for your prejudice.
Grape - Can you please tell me what happened to Suenalo playing at cocowalk?
As I mentioned, I sent this out to some friends, and invited a people to come out to the grove and enjoy a fun friday night with so many things going on. The first thing we did after dinner was head over to Cocowalk to see Suenalo - and they weren't there - what was there was some horrible, and I mean horrible 3-piece band that could not land a paying gig anywhere in town (I was told they'd actually be booted from the last bar they played at, because they were that bad and driving away customers).
I'm just wondering who's providing you with the bad intel. If I were you I'd call them out. I assume it was the usual mismanagement. That's the kind of thing that kills business - a bit of "the boy who called wolf" if you will.
It was kind of a bummer, but we made a good night of it. There was some live music around the grove to be found. A decent band at Moe's and real good act at Barracuda.
Suenalo will be there this week instead.
Hi That Guy... I'm the Marketing Manager of CocoWalk and I never advised anyone Suenalo would be playing last Friday. They were booked for this Friday the 18th at 8pm. Thanks! Naomi Evans
