The Golden Coconut Awards Luncheon took place Friday afternoon at the Mayfair Grill. It was a fun, community-filled event, where awards were given out in different categories.

Heather Bettner brought one of the actual awards from 1974, which was presented to one of her grandmother's way back then. It graced the podium, it's shown above. Heather, as a young girl actually went out and picked the actual coconut shown, which was used to create the award.

I am so glad to see Robert Parente recognized for all the great work he does around here.
We all thought so too! Robert has always championed the Grove and its events-- Congratulations to him and to Pierre Sands, Tom Major Martin and the family of the late Yvonne Mcdonald-- Liliana Dones
CONGRATULATIONS Tom, Robert, et al. Wish I could have been here for it but had to go to Houston. It's especially nice to see two of my favorite Grove people honored!
