Strut needs more strutters; theme song premiered

The Mangoheads met last night to discuss the King Mango Strut (December 27 at 2 pm in Center Grove). Jimbo was getting a little frisky with Antoinette Baldwin, as witnessed in this photo shot last night at Greenstreets, the meeting place.

It looks like the One Ear Society will be taking on the Grapevine and spoofing it as the "Gripe Vine." I told them that people usually call it the "Grape Whine," but whatever.

See Anna Maria at the Windisch-Hunt Gallery (2911 Grand Avenue) if you would like to be in the Strut. It's free if you sign up by Sunday, December 20, and after Sunday she will issue $5 Gift Certificates to participate. I'm not sure what that means or how it works, but she'll explain if you do show up to particpate after the deadline.

They are also looking for a Father Cutie for a "Priests Gone Wild" unit and texting while strutting hunks who want to be "Twilight" stars with no shirts, you know the teen vampires. They already have "I have no show jobs," with someone playing Angel Gonzalez, the ex City Commish.

The theme song goes to the tune of "Margaritaville" and is something like this:

Nibbling on Smoked Fish

Check out that hot dish
Looking at babes
and playing Bacci ball

I'll take a cold beer
Is there still shrimp here?
Looking for the man
that started it all.

Wasting away again here in Jimbo-ville
searching for smoked fish and beer
some people claim that there's a toll booth to blame
But I don't know I'm still gonna go.

It's something like that.

Get ready for the Jimmy Buffet legal team to swoop down on us from LandShark Lager Stadium with an injunction to stop using that tune.

Tell Jimmy Buffets legal team to
"step on a pop top". They have no legal footing to sue.

Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music, 510 U.S. 569 (1994)[1] was a United States Supreme Court copyright law case that established that a commercial parody can qualify as fair use. That money is made does not make it impossible for a use to be fair; it is merely one of the components of a fair use analysis.

Paying for folks to participate? Guess you've got nothing to strut about.
