Was there ever any doubt?
Everyone rejoice -- the King Mango Strut is on. Both parties hashed things out and the "Desperate Grovites" may go on. That's the name Antoinette Baldwin (shown here) came up with for a reality show based on the Grove, if there ever would be a reality show based on the Grove.December 27, the last Sunday of the year is the date for the Strut. This Tuesday, December 1, there is a meeting at Greenstreets at 7 pm.

Thank goodness! Glenn Terry and all the rest have done a fantastic job all these years. Glenn has spent nearly half of his life doing this.
.... except he incorporated the name...(he is the sole owner of the strut...."in name only").
Kind'a weird for all of us in the grove that participate in the strut... If one person feels he owns it all....
But, we are all happy it's going to happen!!!

BUT...At this point let's all just get together and have our Typical BLAST putting on another Great STRUT. Please come out, get funky, get crazy, and Have FUN!!!
That's what's important in all this.
I think I'll skip it this year. It's lost what it once was, and I don't want to feed the massive ego "who is, in and of himself, the strut." And probably the entire grove (at least in his own mind).
Include me out as well. Best I not interfere with the trademark owner's creative vision.
Every year they say they are going to work it out as soon as the Strut is over and Glenn Terry just keeps dragging his feet - so he delays it down to the wire and now he gets a parade again - and the corporate stuff still hangs out.
Glenn has not dragged his feet, nor delayed anything. He started organizing this year's parade in July.
And if you actually met the guy you'd notice no ego, massive or otherwise.

We should all give thanks that this amazing event will continue no matter who gets the credit.
Antoinette, I love your idea for the reality show.... lots of story line to selct from!
