"Our Regional Treasures" featured at gallery
The Windisch-Hunt Gallery (2911 Grand Avenue) is presenting "Our Regional Treasures" opening today, November 29 (from 3 to 6 pm) and running through December 10, 2009.
These remarkable artists are in their 70s and 80s and still continue to paint with continued passion. Their legacy to Florida is infinitely valuable. Today you have the opportunity to meet them and see their work firsthand.
Roy McLendon, an original Highwayman, was inducted into the Florida Arts Council Hall of Fame. Fred Hunt, a painter of visual seduction, has worked for 60 years and was voted "Best Local Artist" and was recognized as a "Miami Master." P. Cherry, an Oasis for the Soul, took the plunge at age 50. Her work appeared on the Miami Vice tv series and has been featured at Bloomingdale's showrooms in New York.
