"Phantom" is next in Viewing Vizcaya series
The next film in the series, on Wednesday, October 21, is the 1925 version of "Phantom of the Opera," a silent film that James Deering, Vizcaya's owner, may have enjoyed at the time with his friends. Film starts at 7 pm.
Live music will accompany the film. Themed cocktails and the usual movie fare goodies are available for purchase.
Tickets are $15.00 and are available the day of the film only. Seating is limited.
The next movies are "The Money Pit," from 1986, on January 20, 2010 (is this a reference to Vizcaya's constant upkeep costs? Maybe. Discover how Vizcaya plays into, not only the theme of this movie, but the film itself.) and on February, 17, "Intolerance," a silent film from 1916 will be shown, a D.W. Griffith epic staring Lillian Gish, a contemporary of Deering’s and an extended house guest at Vizcaya.
