We need some positive energy out there

I hear too many petty things being said in the Grove.

One restaurant owner says something negative about another. One art gallery says something negative about another. Someone else doesn't like another person running a certain Grove event, one guy was putting down the Bed Race because he wasn't involved.

I heard so much gossip and lies last week and it all is really getting out of hand at this point. A restaurant was said to be closed, yet it is still open for business, someone is said to be sleeping with someone else in order to get a law changed, that is a total lie, too.

A local restaurant polled 500 people recently. One major complaint that they kept coming up with was the rudeness of the business people toward the customers, this included restaurants and stores throughout the Grove. While we think we are all nice and friendly, it seems that we are the opposite and it's spreading. And the visitors and customers are noticing.

Let's put positive energy out there. When you put negative energy into the Universe, it only comes back to bite YOU in the ass not the person or entity you are putting down.

Hey,

When I lived in the Upper Keys, most everyone had a smile and were always friendly.

Grape, first off I agree with you 100%, no contest, OK! I greatly admire your desire to be above it all and to make a sincere honest effort to say good things for people to read about; through rose colored glasses. However, it's your blog, your Grapevine----not an easy task walking about daily to keep us informed about our Grove community and informed you do keep us. Why don't you just spit into the wind, rather yet, didn't you take history classes? On many an occasion I've seen you place the bait and reap the harvest with comments, adding to the flavor and mix with your own version of what everyone has blogged about. I suggest you make up your mind and respectfully accept human nature for what it really is. For example, take your self serving filter off, let the folks turn loose, short of f--k this and f--k that. Or screen everything through your rose colored filter and probably lose readership-----but, please do accept the reality of the human condition or continue riding the fence. For example, my comment on what made the Grove famous many years ago. I know my comments were truthful because I was here and observed the reality.

I agree, there is too much hate and aggression amongst Grovites. It has gotten really ugly and needs to be addressed. We need to drop everything and start loving again.

The center grove mafia makes up lies and spreads them. They are vipers. You need to name names Grape.

I thought I was the only one that had noticed, thanks for putting this out there Grape,

You are inspiring me to try harder, making a point to say hello to people with a smile when I am out there and to be extra nice to people when I am in the store on Friday.

We can all do our part, it only takes one smile to brighten someone else's day!

Anon 1:33, I don't think Grape needs to name names. Those of us who are affected by the lies of the mean people you call the Center Grove Mafia know who they are. I don't like calling them that because they're not all from the Center Grove and there are lots of nice, rational people there. I think it's sad that these people feel so threatened they need to resort to bullying and defamation and other nasty tactics to get what they want. They know they are wrong, so their only "argument" is to personally attack people or threaten their livelihoods. It's wrong and it needs to stop.

Grape, I repeat! Sex, drugs, alcohol and artist made the Grove a place where people----people, i.e., single males and females, married couples, straight and gay, came to hang out, have a good decent time and hopefully and with anticipation had a high probability/expectation of ending up spending the night with someone compatible and having a sexual encounter. Please, I REPEAT "PLEASE" make an intelligent comment! Force your readership to respond to such a reality and when they comment you will see what is wrong with the current leadership throughout the Grove community. Grape, does this bother you?

Everybody wants to take ownership for ideas, everybody is stepping on everyone else's toes trying to seem important and all knowing, and there is a lot of jealousy. They claim they have the Grove at heart, but PEOPLE are the Grove!

Anon 10:44, I notice many years ago that no matter what new idea I came up with, as I explored it and tried to expand up it----say a theft proof credit card, say a carburetor that used 30% water, or a boat hull that passed through waves with little or no impact and apply for a new patent, someone had already or just about had the same idea and had written about it. This is not to say new creations are not made, but I notice a universal common denominator that was apparent throughout humanity where great and lesser minds eventually came up with the same ideas. The Grape works hard to filter out hate and ugly remarks and comments, which will only attract hate mongers who deal in negatives. The point is people will claim philisophical concepts simply because as far as they know it was their original idea. When people around the world realize what they think is an original idea they produce endorphins, a drug stronger than crack, alcohol and nitotine put together. Do you not do this natually?

Don't take yourself so seriously. Why dignify it by repeating negative things. There is no yesterday that is gone. you have TODAY. As Sweetpea so aptly put it the other day "hit the escape button" and delete is on the top righthand side.

Who was the comedian who did that thing where he said, "Erase, erase, erase," while acting like he was erasing a chalk board. Anna Marie, you just reminded me of that!

I've notice that when someone, myself included, makes a statement of fact and includes no positive or negative twist or uses words like good or bad, positive or evil in connection with the statement of fact-----some other person, usually a jerk like person will state, Well, why be so negative!
It appears to me that most of humanity, especially these jerk like personalities sees facts and realities in negative terms and then state that a fact of reality is negative and accuse the messenger of some negative remark.
Anyone recognize themselves?
