Why isn't the peacock matter on the agenda? TC.
The agenda should include the concept that The Village of Coconut Grove, Florida, in many respects, even more so than The Village of Key Biscayne faces one of the most beautiful and populous AND productive bays anywhere. Peacocks are not native to the Grove, plus they were dispatched without fanfare; other than the Grape. The Bay offers endless potential, the Peacocks are gone, why be hypocritical? The Bay is one great big "GO GREEN" cash register stuffed with valuables ready to be managed intelligently.
Peacocks have been in the grove for about 30 years. What would you classify as "native", before or after the Indians in Tiger Tail? Or should we trace them back to India itself, their original land? The traditional, awesome and Groovey Peacocks shall be back. Carlos Iglesia.
Native is native and 30 years is not native, unless of course one likes to dilute words to obsure nothingness. The peacocks will return, either in real life form or those fake ones, but peacocks will never represent the Grove because they have nothing to do with the Grove and will never be associated with the Grove.
Carlos
I am surprised at you, regarding what length of time it takes to make something native as we have discussed this issue with regard to trees. Neither Peacock nor Australian Pine are native to the Grove, however I personally think that both add to its unique character
Liliana: if memory serves, I replied to your comment with ample details. The Grape must have edited it. Thus, I can't use this venue for our conversations. This will probably be deleted too, with limited waste of time. CI
Sorry Carlos, 1000 word answers, including the history of Miami, are not permitted. If you don't like that, why don't you email Lili privately? Thanks.
No worries, Grape. Most of my work is done directly, and the copy&paste feature works every time. You don't get to hear half of the stuff I write or do, but thanks anyway. CI
How about you do us all a favor and keep it all to yourself? And not share any with us? Thanks.
It's ironic all the work you do Carlos since no one knows who you are or what you do. I am at every meeting in town from the BID to Merchants to committees to Chamber and I have never seen you at one.
That's right, Tom, I don't waste my time at BID meetings and such. I got several other jobs to do; this is your job, I suppose, not mine. And let's see if you publish this one. I'll follow your invitation not to post here anymore. Big deal. CI
Oh, Carlos, don't go. We'll miss you. Just be a little more concise. Like I am one to say that! ;)
