Above and below the fold

Today's Herald has two Grove stories on the front page. The Great Grove Bed Race is on the left, above the fold, right in with Labor Day Events for the weekend.

At the bottom of the page, below the fold, is the King Mango Strut nonsense. It would be funny if it was a publicity stunt, but it's gotten way out of hand at this point.

I love both parties, Glenn and Antoinette, but I don't take either side, there really are no sides to take, the whole think is just totally Strutastic! Enough. Plan the first Mangohead meeting and begin the season!

You're right, Grapevine. The bickering of those two makes me sick. We should force them to mud fight in the next Strut, if there is one.
I read today's Herald article and can not believe she is holding on to a $15,000 government check. Who in the hell does she think she is, Queen Antoinette?
Another creepy Republican?
Bank the dough, gurl and spend it on the Grove's great parade. If you don't, I say, "Off with your ever-complaining head!"

How can we ever expect Palestinians and Jews or our own Republicans and Democrats to resolve their passionate concerns, if two of our most treasured Grovites can’t seem to resolve this Strut issue? Both camps should make a list of 3-5 people they most trust to mediate an amicable solution and then pick the person that is on both lists. We honor the founders of the King Mango Strut and we greatly respect the efforts of all those folks that have helped make it to survive all of these years. We are all here temporarily, but the Strut must and shall endure.

Lessee here, over a quarter a century of all-volunteer efforts to put on a low budget affair and the cumulative brand value all accrues to Glenn Terry as the sole owner of the trademark?
I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

Brand value my ass. I know the guy and he hasn't -and won't- make money off the parade he started.
He is one of many volunteers, like me, who have worked to make this a great Grove event.
People like you should be appreciating all of the work the Strut volunteers put into this parade.
The smell you you are loving is your own misdirected, stale comment.
Too bad you are enjoying it so.

It's clear that he's trying to SOLELY hold onto the name. What the herald reporter didn't ask and what I want to know is: Why Mr. Terry? why wouldn't it suffice to have the organization hold the rights?

Just comment here and say why, you and you alone deserve to hold these name rights.

Are you the Mango strut? all by yourself? that sounds like arrogance and narcissism that I am famous for. Don't make me sue you for trademark infringement.
