I stopped by the Taurus (Revisited or Round 2 or whatever its being called) and met the owner of Calamari. Nice guy. Asked if we made it in for happy hour but we had just missed it. He threw out the thought of extending it until 8pm right then and there. The bartender was also very nice and accommodating. The "famous" burger was pretty damn good too but the fries were even better! Really crispy with some seasoning to give more flavor. These could be the best fries in the Grove since Sandbar doesnt do that lime seasoning on theirs anymore (that was the best and I cant believe they dumped that). Im gonna have to try Calamari sometime soon. From the amount of people I saw using the free valet, it looks like it has some decent business already.
The free valet is key. After all of the hassles and costs with parking while going out to dinner in the Grove, I know they are gonna attract a lot of business from me.
Calamari aims to please; the food is good and it is reasonable; the manager is there if anything goes wrong and makes it right immediately. These people know how to run a restaurant.
