New delivery service at Chicago's Bakery and Deli

There's something new at Chicago's Bakery and Deli on Commodore Plaza -- delivery! Starting today, lunch will be delivered in the Grove from 11 am to 3 pm. They actually bought a new red scooter just for this!

Call 305-774-9981 for a menu or to order.

Also new is their "Windy City" Rotisserie Chicken, seasoned with their "award winning" secret blend of spices, slow cooked to tender perfection.

The kick-off special is $12 for a whole chicken and $7.00 for a half chicken.

Chicken platters are $8 for a half chicken and $6 for a quarter chicken. The platters are served with rolls, bbq beans and coleslaw. Sauces include hot and spicy, sweet, tangy mustard, Jamaican Jerk, chipotle and teryaki.

I still can't believe there are no Chinese restaurants here in the Grove, with delivery of course. Sure rent is high, nut a small spot on a side street would do, and the prices could be slightly higher than elsewhere. Any Chinese place like that would be PACKED. They would need not one, but 3 scooters for deliveries. That, and a fancy, top of the line stripper joint wouldn't hurt either.

top of the line stripper joint... oxymoron, isn't it? and I would emphasize the latter portion of the word.

Most Gentlemen in Coconut Grove and, uh, The United States plus the World, know what I mean, all too well, by "top of the line "Dancing Ladies Club". Some are better than others, of course, even Coral Gables has one, not too mention dozens in high-end places like South Beach, Brickel, etc, packed every night btw.

Perhaps we like to pretend and appear as "fancy" sometimes in the Grove, a tad too elegant for for Good Old fashioned Chinese food and a good-old fashioned strip-club too? (When properly managed, both are great busineses with zero noise or neighborhood disturbances)

At any rate, make no mistake: A LOT of people Love Chinese Food and Strip-Joints, -(not that they have anything else in common but their absence here)-, so they go elsewhere than the Grove for that, including Numerous Grovites we all know. Multitudes.

No strip joints, please. There's enough T&A to go around in Miami. If we're trying to attract a high-quality crowd, "gentlemen's clubs" aren't the answer. The quality (if you want to call it that) strip crowd goes into Miami and South Beach. You're going to attract the people who can't afford that. It ain't pretty...
Chinese food, a completely different topic, makes complete sense. Don't know why that hasn't happened.

man i was waiting for someone to suggest a place that served Chinese food and had strippers...

i wonder what the economic impact of a place like that would be? ( a high end strip club that is) christabelles would be a perfect fit, since it already looked like a new orleans brothel (so i was told by all my friends who visited from out of town).

Seriously though, such a shame that place isn't open, particuarly during the block parties. We actually stood near by and what- iffed about for a while.

Something in Christabelles would be great - no "Ladies Dancing Club" , though. Too many girly bits hanging out as it is in Miami. And the crowd would not be quality... I see SoBe outcasts. A NY restaurant would be great. And, thank you, Chicago's, for delivering! Love your food.
