Getting the boot

boot
First time we've seen this. Hoping it's for outstanding tickets or something worse and not a new thing for when the meter runs out. This was the scene on Grand Avenue last weekend.

I hate those things. When I lived in Boston my neighborhood had 5 resident stickers issued for every parking space, so there was always a shortage. Then they'd boot a car and leave it there for a week or two until they towed it, blocking the space so no one could use it. If they can tow you they should just do it and get it over with, not litter the street with your booted car.

If they are going to start to do this, they should let people know how it works, if you get towed where to retrieve your car, etc.

There is a real super hero in London called Angle Grinder Man who car boot clamp victims dial and he shows up with a portable saw dressed in an action figure costume and cuts the boots off for free, just like batman and Superman fighting the evil monsters taking over the city:

Proud to be Anon's description of superhero Angle Grinder Man sounds like a timely replacement to Ye Olde Parking Ticket Fairy

Hope Angle Grinder Man brings an extra grinding wheel so that he can cut through the bars on his new jail cell when he's caught....

Anon 8:32,
Not a problem. The cops will be parked on the sidewalk, so they won't even notice ole Angle Grinder when he's crouched down working on the street.
