Village Council begrudgingly gives donation for 4th of July
Felice Dubin, who is the treasurer of the Village Council and also on the 4th of July Committee along with Liliana, offered only $250.00, the same amount that was given last year.
Dave Collins, Village Council member and also on the 4th of July committee (lots of overlapping here folks), offered the whole $500.00. Then the discussion started on why the money was needed.
Dave said the money is needed because the 4th of July event is in the red. He said the money could go to port-o-potties. In the end, the $500.00 was given for port-o-potties, taken from some other defunct committee in the Village West, which has never used their share of the money given out by the Village Council which gives up $500.00 to various sub-committees.

Port-0-potties----whatever. There are also several public restrooms at several parks in the Grove area. Perhaps the information booths could be given instructions to put up a few signs pointing folks towards these public facilities. Perhaps a few well placed signs placed about in important locations with arrows.
Additionally, a few interested businesses just might get a little more business if they placed a sign on their property indicating they welcome people to use their restrooms during the 4th.
Hoorah for Port-o-Potties!
(oh, and I can't think of one public toilet other than Cocowalk and Kennedy Park, a mile apart!)
Thank you PregnantWoman. PortaPotties are kind of important at events like 4th of July.
Not to mention that they are somewhat mandatory...
Actually, there's public facilities at Kennedy Park, Peacock Park, Monroe Kirk Park and Coco Walk and that makes four all within walking distances of Center Grove. There are probably one or two more that the general public doesn't know about. Check with one of the homeless as they also use these public facilities daily.
