There's something fishy going on around here
I mentioned having fish tacos at the Sandbar Grill, another person said he could think of 100 other better places for fish tacos. He did mention Jaguar, does Jaguar have fish tacos?
Where are the best fish tacos? I didn't think Sandbar's fish tacos could be beat.
Here are their baja style fish tacos in front and the smoked salmon tacos behind them.

Do i see cheese on those :o . For the love of god, thats sacrilegious.
Take it from a southern Californian (whom wont touch a fish taco in this state by the way).
A fish taco needs only a few ingredients. Battered and fried FRESH halibut (should not be greasy but rather light and crispy,) shredded cabbage, a fresh corn tortilla, that tasty cream sauce, and fresh pico de gallo. Thats it (well other then then fresh squeezed lime juice which is a standard for Mexican food in cali.
i had sandbar's fish tacos the other night and was very dissapointed. after hearing so many "rave reviews" i thought they were awful! i wasn't expecting fried fish sticks, but i guess when im at a sports bar what else should i expect?
i will stick to cooking my own..
Sandbar has great fish tacos...I eat them every Monday....Baja and shrimp are the way to go. And as for the poster who said cheese is sacrilegious, I'm sure Italians were saying the same thing when we decided to perfect the pizza Just because it's different doesn't make it any worse. BTW, corn tortillas and fish tacos are God-awful. The melt in your mouth fish tacos at sandbar are the best in town....hands down.
I agree with anonymous 9:37 pm ...fish tacos don't have cheese...the best fish tacos are from Fisher's restaurant.
To So-Cal anonymous. You can go back there and have 'em your way anytime. Cheese should be added to just about everything, including anything calling itself a taco... and halibut?? really? battered and fried?? Swing by Long John Silvers, I'm sure it'll be just to your liking.
Sandbar does a great job on theirs, can't think right off the bat of better fish tacos, but there is a near boca called 2 George's that were amazing. Although, it's a marina bar and restaurant, so they have an advantage and the price is a little more steep.
I like the fish tacos at Sandbar. Baja is my favorite I think and the lobster one is good too. I just wish they still used that lime flavored salt on the fries. That was the bomb.
I always ignore people who say that food is supposed to be one way or another based on the state they came from because its so absurd. Every place does something different. You either like it or you dont. The argument on what is best from what part of the globe is never-ending. There was a recent one about pizza where people said pizza in Miami sucked compared to NY and Chicago. I disagree. I happen to like a lot of different places that serve up tasty pies down here.
