New bakery set to open tomorrow on Commodore Plaza

bakery
The new Chicago's Bakery and Deli is scheduled to open tomorrow at 3162 Commodore Plaza. This is part of the new Chicago's Steak House, which is opening later this month, next door. This was to be the Sweet Dreams Bakery, but they changed the name to fit in with the new restaurant.

Opening time is set for 7 am. The staff is having a dry run through today, actually a sugary, creamy cake-filled run through today, if you check the shelves out!

Sweet Dreams sounded so much better. If Chicago Steak House doesn't make it and all those places in that space don't they might regret that decision. The place is so dark and dreary; I do wish them luck and hope they make it, but they might have to reconfigure the place and open it up.

The name won't matter, neither "Greenstreet" nor "George's" is exactly poetic... The key is connecting with the community; the Grape has opened the door for them, let's see how the community responds and vice versa. I'll be there treating my 5 and 8 yr olds to a surprise tomorrow...

Went to visit the "bakery" on Commodore Plaza. Liked the the layout the Deli part should make it.
The Entry leaves one wanting Bakery?
The croissants looked dry not fully baked and I do believe it was frozen.
So much for bakery. Focaccia had the best pastry when they opened.

Just went by and got a couple of Croissants. Very nice friendly staff, Bagels!!! Coffees, lattes, Chicago Dogs...a nice and welcomed addition to the Grove... I hope they make it, as they are right across the street from our office.
