Panel discussion on the future of Grove retail
International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the global trade association of the shopping center industry will be holding the program and reception on Thursday, June 4 at the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel (2889 McFarlane Road) from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
Angie Kenyon is moderator, she is Development Director of Build2Suit, LLC. Panelists include Peter Gardner, President, Pointe Group Advisors; Pete Hernandez, Miami City Manager and Mia Stierheim of Stierheim and Wesson, Leasing Director of CocoWalk.
I was asked recently by another leasing manager in Coconut Grove for my opinion on the type of restaurants we would like in the area. I talked about that here, but was shot down because most did not like my suggestions, well this panel discussion may be the place to come up with ideas and suggestions.
On line registration filled up fast, but you may sign up and register on site on Thursday.
I also have a discussion board started on Facebook, asking about the restaurants we would like to see in the Grove here.

A long time ago you mentioned putting in a mini Target here in the Grove. Restaurants we got, what we need is a place those of us who live here in "downtown" coconut grove can walk to to buy stuff like toilet paper and laundry detergent. Something a step above a 7-11, but not a big step. Something akin to the ez quik on 27th, but right dab smack in the middle of town.
How much is the registration?
Peter Gardner is behind all those now empty lots for sale in West Grove. Grape please ask him what's up with West Grove and did they drop the ball?
Some guy...what about CVS? Seems to fit your description.
What you are looking for is a Marshalls Home Goods store that sells clothes, shoes, household and garden items, baby items, toys and an all around go-to place that is two steps up from a Kmart. We will even take a TJ Maxx.
