More flags and bunting are filling the village
The Grove looks so great with all the flags and bunting. AAA Flag & Banner Mfg. did a great job with the bunting along South Bayshore Drive and McFarlane Road. And Bobby Starke, from the City's Special Events team worked with the BID office in getting 70 of the flags up on Grand Avenue, Main Highway and all the other spots around the Center Grove at no cost to the Grove. A Saturday morning crew worked from 5 am to noon with the supervision of Manny Gonzalez, the BID Projects Coordinator. They were all proud and honored to put up the American flags.
People have been asking me what all the flags are for, when I tell them they are for the 4th of July, they say it's too soon. But I think Christmas decorations in August or September are too soon. Flags around the village a couple of weeks before the 4th of July is perfect. It's a reminder of the big day to come. Also, yesterday was Flag Day.

It's not too soon. It's festive and it gets everyone in the spirit and pre-planning for their holiday weekend which is an opportunity for the Grove and for its residents.
Flag Day is June 14
And if my calendar serves me right, today is June 15, so yesterday was flag day as I stated.

You'll be happy to know that the family and I came over from Brickell on Saturday for a nice afternoon stroll through the Grove. Did some shopping at Cocowalk and took down a gelato at the place next to Petit Paris. Fantastic Grove afternoon. Flags looked great. Grove was looking good.
