I just tried Sekai for the first time last night, and I was a bit disappointed. First of all, a very tall man at the door was quite rude. It was not even 9pm, bu the entire place was dark and playing loud club music, so we sat at a table under the overhang, but not on the sidewalk (those were full, not their fault, it's the only attactive part of the place). The waiter was great, friendly attentive and the best part about it. We had a coconut shimp appetizer that was ok, not bad, not great, but the entrees were not good. Mongolian beef was candied - as in like an apple, and so sweet it was almost unbearable. Pad thai had a good sauce, bad noodles and hardly a sign of chicken.
It really made me miss the frog, which I went to regularly. To have another so-so pan asian... a loss for the grove.
You must have been the only person left that actually went to Senor Frog's...
I've eaten at Sekai many times since it opened and everything I've had has been great. I had the Mongolian Beef too and thought it was delicious.
I think we should all not hesitate to tell the managers and the owners if something is wrong; that is the only way they can improve and get feedback. They want to please. Tell them if something is not what you expected, if service can be improved or anything else that doesn't want to make you return particularly with new places.
