New billboard "posted" on US1

billboard
The new Grove billboard is up at US1 and 27th Avenue. They are using the concept of post-it notes, which I thought was a good idea myself. A few Grove businesses will be using the post-it notes on menus and such to promote themselves. You'll see Coconut Grove Grapevine post-it notes, too. I have a bunch of them being circulated.

At left, on US1, there is new Grove sign that welcomes people to the Grove.

In the works is a large, more official entrance sign, made out of stone or something like that, to be placed on 27th Avenue, which will welcome people as they enter the village.

I haven't driven by the billboard in person yet, just relying on your photograph. Is it just Greenstreet and Jaguar that get "top billing" via post it?

I am not sure I like it - it is too distracting - too much to read as you are driving by. I like simple. I am sure Greenst. and Jaguar have paid for the ad and hopefully other restaurants will jump in on the next one.

Grape, who exactly paid for the sign? was it the only two businesses mentioned or was this paid for in any part by the BID or Chamber or any other general fund?

The thing I find funny is that this ad agency used to do this billboard and the previous ones that make disparaging remarks about other sections of Miami in order to make the Grove look good is still being used. They are obviously hacks. If youre driving down the road, this billboard makes no sense, nor does it entice anyone to go to Coconut Grove.

The best billboard was the Jaguar one with the huge jaguar on it. A real eye catcher.
