He tore the tree down so that it wouldn't block the sign

tree1

According to witnesses, some moron didn't like the fact that the bus stop sign was being blocked by this tree, so he attacked the tree on Saturday. This is near Matilida and Grand Avenue.

Either he needed to read the sign pretty badly or he was afraid that the bus driver would not see the sign and would not stop.

The trees should be trimmed and not block signs, but not this way.

i suppose the alternative is to hang a bus driver in effigy from said tree

amazing, though, a guy wakes up one morning and says, i think i'll go attack a tree today

Here's a thought ... maybe there should be some thought about where the trees are before the signs are placed.

It's a case of what came first - the tree or the sign?

well, he accomplished his goal, and I bet the city keeps a closer eye on the issue. Could be very effective nonverbal communication.

Seems that this guy needs some anger management, a simple phone call to the powers-that-be would have sufficed!

I'm hoping that by now the tree has been properly trimmed and re-planted or replaced?

No, the tree is still hanging there, even deader.
