It will be a place for bikes only, no room for cars

bikers
As you know the Great Grove Bike Day is coming Sunday, April 26. This is going to be a terrific event, but a few merchants are concerned about street closings.

The problem? All streets will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Merchants would like Grand Avenue and/or Main Highway to be open. While it's a dream to have only bicycles, skaters and such on the streets, realistically, many people may want to come from afar with their bikes on their cars and they need access to the Central
Grove. Apparently the parking garages will be enough.

This great event will bring TONS of business to all the Grove merchants. The streets will be crowded: pedestrians, bicyclists, skaters, runners need food and drink too, lots of it. And the new visitors will come back in the future.

People with cars, including those carrying thir bikes from elsewhere always find places to park. Leave you car a little bit farther away and walk or bike for a change on this great, healthy Sunday! CI

EXACTLY Anon Cl 3:03. - what sense would it make to have a 'bike day' where people simply park their car and un-rack their bike precisely at the event?

I live 5 blocks from Cocowalk, and there's always room for a couple more cars to park on my street, even with dog park overflow during the Arts fest. Surely folks can ride that far?Too bad there probably won't be enough bike racks for everyone who wants to patronize our businesses while in town. Bike theft might be an issue to watch for.
