Traditional Japanese woodblock prints featured at Midori

bijin

"Triptych," the narrative art of historical Japan will be featured next month at the Midori Gallery. From April 4 through May 2, the gallery at 3168 Commodore Plaza will be displaying traditional woodblock prints.

The Luber Collection of Antique Triptychs is an outstanding group of works. Shirley and Gilbert Luber were passionate collectors of Japanese woodblock prints for over 30 years. This is an opportunity to see the best through the experienced eyes of the world's most discerning collectors (the Lubers).

There is an opening reception on April 4 from 7 to 10 pm. The Honorable Hiroshi Yamaguchi, Consul General of Japan will be on hand to introduce the collection. Taiko (drums) and Shakuhachi (Bamboo flute) will be performed by the Fushu Daiko.

This is my favorite gallery in the Grove. They have a lot of incredible Asian art. Now I just need to win the lottery and buy a nice house so I can buy some pieces to hang.
