Party at the Bookstore for St. Stephen's students
St. Stephen's Episcopal Day School and the Bookstore in the Grove Celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Eric Carle’s "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" with a birthday party and reading in the book store this week.
In anticipation of the event, the school children worked on science and art projects showing the metamorphoses of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Delia Zepeda, science teacher at St. Stephen's, read the classic story to the kids and donned beautiful butterfly wings for the event.
The art projects can be viewed in the window display on the Virginia Street side of The Bookstore. In honor of the winners, the bookstore donated three copies of the book to the St. Stephen's library.
