Lots of young energy around the village this weekend
The Improv had a little casino set up for a Bar Mitzvah which was held in the club yesterday. Many of the young guests were in and out and all around Mayfair's plaza.
A little bit later I noticed a long line of skateboarders coming up Florida Avenue around to Virginia Street and onto Main Highway. While I know many people find them annoying, I noticed most of the people around, who seemed to be tourists, had smiles on their faces, as the skateboarders gracefully made their way around the crowds, without infringing on anyone's personal space.
It almost appeared to be set up as a way to add a little ambiance to the area. Maybe it should be a regular thing every once in awhile -- having a long line of kids just skateboard in a long line around the Grove. Last month an older group of rollerbladers added a lot of fun to a boring day by blading around the Grove and usually early in the mornings, groups of bicyclists do the same thing.
