The energy is magical at Blu Moon Studio of Art
A nice crowd showed up for last Friday's Blu Moon Art Happy Hour. I was happy to see a lot of friends there. The theme this go round was Art Trading Cards. Small cards, created by artists, that are traded and collected.
Sheri Friedman (in blue) welcomed all the art lovers to her great space high above Florentine Plaza at 3444 Main Highway. With Sheri are Liz Gibson, Liliana Rainy and Georges Bourgoigne.
There was a nice food spread with wine and soda and Suchi Oischi, their neighbor down the block, on Main Highway, sent up complimentary sushi. The little plaza is a really nice little community unto itself. Here in green you see Atena Komar from the Celestial Treasures also, on the first floor. She is with friends Barbara, in yellow, and Terri, in pink.
Among their other Florentine Plaza businesses and friends are Revolution Bicycle Shop and Brenda's Boutique. There are quite a few other businesses that are part of the little community, too. They have a nice little thing going there.
Also, above, you can see Three Sheets to the Wind playing and below is Rich, playing on the roof!
Blu Moon has some sort of special karma or energy. Someone explained it as being "magical." It is. There is something going on in each room, it is set up like a flat. There's a little terrace (where you see Rich playing the guitar) and there are rooms with art and music and students and it's just a nourishing, homey atmosphere. Theresa and I joked about moving in to stay. It's just that comfortable. You don't want to leave.
