Was this a snobby gathering of only the Grove elite or was this a diverse crowd?

Anonymous,
This talk as well as all of our other real estate talks have been open to any and all newcomers. We do not ask for names, and we do not send out personal invitations.
I am a 40 year Grove resident and I am as local and diverse as anyone.
If there is an elite Coconut Grove crowd I do not know who they are. To me, the beauty of the Grove is that it is a totally mixed community.

Well Riley, there is obviously an elite crowd, and that is a given. They write on here almost everyday, criticizing the black kids, and other non white people. They also criticized Justin's spoken word business just because there was rap music being played. Maybe next time I will attend...

Maybe if you get over your inferiority complex you would feel welcome.

anon 12:03, what's wrong you can't handle the truth, why don't you get over yourself..

I don't have time for ignorance and people that wants to talk about themselves, how much money they have or what they drive

yeah that's right, I enjoyed Justin's spoken word business, but the elitist of the Grove ran him out and he went back to California because many people wrote horrible things on this blog about Hispanics and rap music....

Anon 12:39, you seem like a lonely lost soul. Come to the Krishna temple we will help you get over your inferior attitude and hateful and jealous attitude toward your fellow man.

That comment is about as ignorant as they get. You dont know any of these people yet you label them as "elitist" and think they talk about these things all the time. Give it up already. Your pity party is over.

I think Justin had more class than to be run out of town by a few comments on a blog. BTW this blog was always very supportive of Justin. We promoted his thing every chance we could.

He probably had a good reason to move 3000 miles away.

If you read this blog on a regular basis, you would know that code enforcement came down hard on every restaurant and bar in the grove. They all stood firm and fought back, Justin decided to give up and run away. Just the facts.

Justin did not run away and its people like you who makes the Grove negative. There were many mean things said about his art form by people like you.

Justin did not run away. He was actually fired. Anyone who did business with Justin eventually found out what kind of guy he really was. He worked in various Grove venues (Sandbar/flavour, etc) and was fired from everyone of them. Don't blame his failings on this community.

Code enforcement did try to shut them down......but with good reason. The place was a fire trap. Many of us here don't like some of the things that code enforcement does but you can't turn what use to be a palm reader's store to a bar without the proper precautions.

Why is this whole article talking about Justin Fairweather? He is a retard and got fired about 87 times from every esablishment he's worked at. Yes code enforcement was/is being harsh on businesses but why does an article about Real Estate lead to Justin....it's obvious Justin is writing every one of these comments.Waste of time and energy......

the last couple of anon. comments proved the point, that everyone is so quick to judge other people.....clean up your own back yard before cleaning out your neighbors

One of the guys from the Boardwalk and I think Speak Easy was at the Merchants Meeting this morning. I was tempted to approach him and ask him the real story.

Grape, nothing negative implied, just trying to gauge the Grapevine's mind set. If you were tempted to approach and ask for the real story, but did not, please, what stopped you?

It was early in the morning, I was half asleep, he was half asleep, I was in the front row, he was in the back row, the meeting was in progress and when that meeting ended, the new police meeting started immediatly and there was really no time to talk.

I didn't want to disrupt things and thought I would catch him later, but never did.

Plus I know why the Speak Easy was shut down: Many, many code violations. I didn't feel it was a news story as to why Justin left town. That's personal and his business.
