I spoke with Danny from Revolution Bikes, apparently it's a fun Race kind of ride, at night, mostly single speed bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes too, anything goes.
It's not like a "critical mass" type of deal, no political/social agenda, they have lights and should respect the rules, just a fun, crazy 6 mile race downtown for the heck of it, meet people etc.. There are very good almost professional "undercover" riders, dressed like punks.. all kinds of people, girls, bums, athletes, professionals working early the next day.. a 20 minute sprint into the night.. Gotta check it out Wednesday night, people start gathering at Revolution Bicycle 3444 Main Hwy at 9pm. Be there!

BTW, The Rickembacker event last Saturday was excellent, tons of people showed up, they shut down one side of the Cause for hours for Bikers, Runners, Skaters etc.
They are thinking about doing that every Saturday, it's about freaking time! Most "civilized", or "modern" cities have regular outdoor/sports events like that all the time..
Miami seems to have some momentum going right now to become a more biker-friendly City, (3#rd worst in the USA, right now)with REAL bike paths and such outdoor events, education for both Car Drivers and sports people, facilities/showers, bike racks, for work-commuters, etc.
Our esteemed "representative", Mr Sarnoff was there on Saturday, promissing all kinds of things for Bikers on the loud speakers in Crandon Park.. He didn't say a word about his District, Cocoanut Grove Village, of Course, all the current plans and improvements are going to North and South Miami, not the Grove, or Say, the South Bayshore drive, the most packed avenue in Dade for runners/cyclists, nope.. it's for other cities like Key Biscayne (awesome improvements, great inauguration).. guess it'll take even more time for the Grove to see any improvement for Sports People out in the Streets.
