He probably likes Code Enforcement officers, too

I didn't see these letters to the editor in the Herald, but someone sent them to me. I just found them interesting because people see the King Mango Strut as different things:

Re the King Mango Strut Parade:
"Since Glenn Terry and the Strutters already have coroneted President-elect Barack Obama, it will be interesting to see if they attack the president after his first year in office with the same level of spite and vitriol used to attack President George W. Bush the last few years. My guess is that they will not."

Signed,
JOHN E. MORROW III, Coral Gables

==

Response by Tom Lopez, Fan of the Strut:

"Perhaps not Mr Morrow. Perhaps it will be because we elected someone with integrity and intelligence this time - not a Supreme Court appointed poser. But if Obama acts with the same disdain for the constitution and truth as the current president it will be our duty as citizens to attack him with the same level of spite and vitriol as it was our duty to attack Bush. For the likes of you to continue to defend this rogue president whose acts repeatedly rose to the level of crimes and misdemeanor is beyond me."

Please you guys do not attack anyone. Attacks are savage acts of desperation by animals including our prehistoric ancestors when food is involved. I suggest you start learning to criticize and have constructive and civilized conversations on your differences. Unless you want to continue going back.

Just further proof that the Strut is organized by Democrats, for Democrats. Republicans not welcome.

What will the Strut do next year without Bush?

And integrity? Please. Reverend Wright, anyone?

Swlip has a point. It's a shame the Republicans don't have the creative energy to put on something like the strut. Plus, Ted Stevens now has the free time to teach Reverend Wright a thing or two about integrity.

Politics on the Grapevine are pretty boring lately - us vs. them. WOW.

How about: Who has the best pizza within two miles of 33133?

I'm pretty sure whomever would like to enter a "float" may - mocking whomever they'd like. No one volunteered to take on the role of Rev. Wright, is all.

And OF COURSE Obama will do something to be mocked. As cool as he is, he is still a politician in the lime light.

Too bad Clinton didn't give the Strutters anything to work with. Oh yeah, he did. I hear blue dresses were big that year.
Living with the Bush administration was like being a social worker. If you didn't keep your sense of humor, you would end up slitting your wrists. Its okay, though, I wasn't using my civil liberties anyway.

Can't believe this guy Morrow wasted newspaper ink on that letter and why did he say he was from the Gables when he really lives in the Grove.
