The Meter Fairy doesn't help the parking situation

The Meter Fairy has been out all weekend, but the concept is different.

He/she doesn't stop the Meter Maid from ticketing cars, and boy, was she going at it this weekend, she's crazy with those tickets. I don't think a car has a chance these days with the new Meter Maid. No grace period here.

What the Meter Fairy does is give out discount passes to park in the garages.

I think this defeats the whole purpose of the Meter Fairy, who should be putting a quarter in the meter for meters that are about to expire. Of course we don't have the old fashioned meters so I guess that makes it hard. It's just not the same.

When is the parking authority going to give free parking for the holidays? One of the Santas even told me that he avoids the Grove (when he is not Santa-ing) because of the parking situation. Now when Santa doesn't even want to come here because of the ticket-crazy Meter Maids, there is a major problem. :(

Just another example showing that the City doesn't look out for the Grove's best interests. They are thirsty for that Parking money, and our taxes to use a lot of it elsewhere.

Other smaller Cities like Coral Gables or Key Biscayne do offer free parking. It's good for Business. Try asking Sarnoff why they can, and the Grove can't.

I agree, the whole purpose of the Meter Fairy in past years was to get to the meters before the metermaid did. Whate gives?

That parking is not that bad folks! I always find parking, and that's without entering any of the garages or paid parking lots!

I guess I have good "parking karma". And, well, you don't?

Or do you?

Is it perception, or reality?

Think about it, if you believe in parking meter fairies - your possibilities are endless!!!

Yeah, and how many times do you have to ride around the block?
When is the post office going to let us park there at night? We need more surface lots. Garages suq!

When and where does the Gables offer free parking? I've fed plenty of meters on Miracle Mile.

Also, how can the meter fairy put a quarter in the meter when there are no meters and we just have those ticket machines and pay by phone?

If it makes you feel any better, I got ticketed behind the Miami City Ballet at 5:36 p.m. one day last week. My parking ticket said 5:38. I'll be challenging that one.
