The Mayfair Antique Market starts in January
This is put on by Sud, the same people who do the Lincoln Road antique market. The Grove market will be inside and outside, in and around Mayfair. The old Cielo club is being used for the indoor air conditioned area, but I know that the organizers also had their eye on the old Wet Willy's spot and what about the old Borders spot?
Old this, old that, the Grove does need this event to bring some of the old back to life.
The winter/spring schedule looks like this:
January - 16, 17 and 18
February - 13, 14, 15
March - 13, 14, 15
April - 13, 14, 15
May 8, 9, 10.
The February show is the same weekend as the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, so I don't know how that will work. I can never understand why the Grove always lumps events together, rather than spread them out throughout the month.
This may be good though, because with all those thousands of people in for the Arts Festival, it may actually encourage them to return for future antique shows the following months. So it's sort of a captive audience that weekend who will hopefully return again and again.
It's a good weekend to promote other Grove events, hopefully that will be done, too.

Thanks, Lili, what a great idea!
