Waterfront Advisory Board likes "Burn Notice," well most do
His feeling was that there should not be a problem with allowing "Burn Notice" to stay and complete filming. He said, like everything else, the City will probably not move right away on the Expo Center demolition and they would be asking "Burn Notice" to vacate and then have the center just sit there empty.
Apparently, others agree on the City side, they are now changing the lease to allow "Burn Notice" to stay through August 2009, rather than early July, when the City wanted them out. The new lease for the Expo Center is $20,000 per month, which will begin when they return to start filming in February or March 2009. This will allow them to complete season three fully at the Expo Center.
The rumor is that "Burn Notice" is going to move to Louisiana after that (for season four) because they received lots of incentive money from the state of Louisiana and we are demolishing their home.
"We got played as chumps one more time until they found a better deal [in Louisiana]," was the feeling of Jack King, a member of the Waterfront Advisory Board. He was the only one present on the board last night, who was against allowing them to stay until the third season is completed in August 2009. The rest of the board voted to allow them to stay, although ultimately, the City is the one making that decision.

There are scores of businesses in the Grove that can testify to the direct payments Burn Notice has made to them for goods and services, I made money from them and they are fabulous business people. It is a shame to let an economic engine go like this. And if you do not treat people in the entertainment business well the news will travel fast and we will be black listed.
Many places (like the state of Nevada) have commissions expressly for the purpose of attracting film and television production. The staff assists the production company in any number of ways. The reason, of course, is that these projects bring in lots of money, not to mention the benefits from the final showing of the product showcasing the locale. This isn't rocket surgery, guys.
That is a shame that BN will be moving to Louisana. Miami is as much of the show as the cast members are. To bad.
