Some nice meal deals

Focaccia Rustica (3411 Grand Avenue) is offering a good, fast breakfast for only $6.00!

The breakfast consists of two eggs, any style, toast, orange juice and American coffee.

This is eat-in only, which includes white tablecloth and linen napkins. I ran into a couple of friends there this morning partaking in the breakfast special.

They also offer soup and salad for lunch for only $8.50. The sandwich is quite large, it isn't half of a sandwich, it is more like 2/3 of a baget.

For lunch they also offer a $12.95 special which consists of soup or salad and your chose of the pasta of the day, the chicken of the day or the churrasco steak of the day, each day will be these items but prepared a different way. And dessert is the final course for this great lunch deal.

The mark up ratio isn't quite as bad as 20¢:$6. It's about $1.25:$6. I'd actually go for their breakfast "special", if they made it a little more special with hash brown potatoes or the like. The plate looks a little spare - love the garnish though. That's worth another 50¢ for the presentation.

Maybe you two can make each other breakfast for 50 cents each and leave the restaurants to those who appreciate them and aren't so damn cheap!

I have eaten at Focaccia's several times for breakfast, and I can tell you that the $6.00 price was well worth it. Is a matter of fact they have been more than happy to change the menu around for me and never even charged me extra. I do not know any other place in the Grove that you can have 2 eggs any style, french baguette, orange juice and coffee w/free refills for that price. By the way McDonald's eggs are not even real. In the other hand I rather support a local restaurant that the owners are always there, than a big franchise. Shame on u. P.S. They're always donating to the local schools and charities.

They definitely need to add a scoop of hashed browns with this order and an orange slice. You have to compete with Greenstreets breakfasts.

Greenstreets doesn't give you free coffee and juice with your breakfast!

$6.00 for 2 eggs and a slice of French bread? You got to be kidding, what a freaking rip off, Denny's is around $5 or $6 and you get bacon, pancakes etc

Again, McDonald's, Denny's, etc. do not serve real eggs, but powder and do not get me started on the "panckages and bacon"... and no it is not $6.00 for just eggs and a piece of bread, this also includes 1/2 a french baguette, coffee w/free refills and Orange Juice. Furthermore, the people in the Grove are always complaining about the "big boxed" corporations taking over and you keep on supporting them and trashing local restaurants. Tsk, Tsk, shame on you.
