Going Green with little Green Driving Machines

green2
Peter and Odalys Kilissanly have a new "green" company, right up the block on US1. I am usually against the many golf carts I have seen lately up and down the streets of the Grove, mostly because they don't follow traffic laws. I even see one parked on the sidewalk often near The Bookstore. Is that legal?

But the Kilissanly's "Green Driving Machines" at European Automotive LLC at 3850 S. Dixie Highway, seem to be more user friendly and street friendly.

The little green (actually colorful) machines are electric, save gasoline, are street legal and are environmentally friendly. While they are not highway safe, they are suitable for small villages like the Grove. Some models seat six, some as many as 11 or 14!

To charge them up, you just plug the vehicle into any regular outlet. Prices vary depending on the model and style and go from about $10,000 to $18,000.

or by calling 305-448-2989.

The Metro, which seats 14 sure would be a nice Grove Shuttle that could go between Vizcaya, museums, multiple stops in the Business District, parks... and uses no gas.

GREAT IDEA !!! The whole idea is not to emit pollution and not depend on foriegn oil. for 2 cents a mile or $2.00 for 100 miles. You save money in the long run,and help mother earth for the future of our kids and grand kids(good idea for the post office problems we are having) by the way I think the small 2 passenger car is a lot less, the price quoted in the article is for the security car. or a six passenger car. The busses they carry, transports 15 passengers and i believe that one is $18,000. I went by last thrusday as they were coming in. Last I checked i have never seen a bus for that amount of money using NO fuel, or otherwise. Great Idea! GO GREEN !!!

I saw a lady the other day pull up at CVS in a golf cart with her baby in an infant seat and a toddler in the back jump seat. How unsafe is that? You might as well put the infant seat on a skateboard. And yet they give tickets to drivers for not wearing seatbelts when these kids are totally exposed and have no protection whatsoever. They need new rules for these cars and golf carts.

I agree No one should be on our streets without seatbelts or LIGHTS at NIGHT. That is a definite No, No. Especially with Kids. I know ANY car cart or otherwise are subject to the same driving laws. When you buy an Electric Vehicle ALWAYS make sure it is STREET LEGAL..

Sure they can get a ticket if they park illegal, or drive reckless. Anyone behind a wheel on a public stret, needs a driving licsense, and must follow the same rules, wether electric or gas.

The starting price for the Smart Cars at the "Miami Beach Car Show" was $26,000. These "green cars" don't run on gasoline, they use electricity. Sounds like a better deal to me.
