It's a busy day on the streets of Coconut Grove
The streets are full of tourists today. The tour buses started dropping people off early and it has continued throughout the day. Also, lots of people are in town for the FSU game.
I tried to get lunch at Basil in the Grove, but it was so hectic and full that I left. Georges's in the Grove and Jaguar were the same, and so were so many other spots. Good for them. It looks like we are going to have a great tourist season this year, if that is any indication.

I want to see photos of people carrying shopping bags.
Well, after going out Thursday night and seeing the Grove dead as ever, I headed out again last night. The Grove was PACKED last night! Nearly every restaurant that I passed was completely packed with people. Le Bouchon had a nice crowd though not as full as usual but Le Petit was overflowing with people dining. Greenstreet had a dinner crowd, George's was packed, and I had dinner at Cita's which was also jam packed. The back patio there is a great place to dine and reminds me of eating in a neighbor's backyard.
On the way out, Ed Benitez thanked us for coming and I recognized him from the picture you posted. I chatted with him and his wife for a bit and told them that they have a great neighborhood restaurant. Ed said that was exactly what he wanted to do seeing that he was a neighbor after all. Nice guy. I recommend checking out Cita's for anyone who hasnt yet. Its not "Grove cheap" so be prepared to pay a little more for dinner but the ingredients and quality of food more than justify the prices.
