It's all about the chili today

chili2
Fat Tuesday's Chili Cook-off contest is happenning now. You have until 6 pm to get out there and get some delicous chili prepared by many of the Grove's own restaurants.

Here is Frank, from Barracuda, serving up his special recipe to Sean.

chili3
Jessica and Teresa, from Land Shark Lager were out sampling the various recipes, along with promoting their lager.

Bianca and Krystal (left) were at the Kristi House booth. Kristi House is the beneficiary of the charity event. Sonia and Natasha (right) enjoyed the chili. Natasha has a free sample in her hand, the chili you buy will be in a larger bowl, see Frank above.

chili6
I tasted a lot of chili and it is going to be a tough call. Joshua from Sammy C's was out serving up their new recipe, and Luis and Roman from Basil had their special dish. Pilar, Sandra and Marissa from Anokha were there with Anokah's recipe and Peewee and Rosie from Sandbar Grill were there, too, with Sandbar's recipe. This is just naming a few places.

If you like chili, get out there and try some of your favorite restaurant's recipe.
They may just end up being today's winner!

Restaurants are selling their chili for $5.00, which includes beer or soda. Local residents' recipes will be judged, but not sold. The Ramblers Band and DJ Friendly are performing and beer specials from Land Shark Lager and Budweiser are on tap along with giveaways, kids activities, a waiter’s race, and much more, I even saw a free energy water promotion as you enter CocoWalk.

What a wonderful idea, this event was, to benefit Kristi House...and if I say so myself the best Chilis in town. Kudos to the Grove for organizing such a wonderful event!
