Grab & Go now open on Main Highway
They were open all weekend and are closed today, apparently they just open at night on weekdays. They have burgers and hot dogs, chili, salads, etc. A great place for a fast lunch I would think, but again, at lunch time today, they were not open.

I give them a few months - tops. Not that I don't want them to succeed - I do... but I just don't see that location succeeding as a grab & go kind of place for food.
THere are enough sit-down restaurants that you can eat at and that's why people come to the Grove - to relax & eat (not to grab & go)... I would recommend an ice cream place - that's about the only thing people grab and go... again it's just my opinion and I do wish them success but I don't see it lasting.
For a second there, after reading your headline I thought you were reporting a "smash & grab"... then I realized it was the name. It works--food on the go a a good thing.
Here 's all they need to add to make it work: Old fashioned cuban coffee-- it's the perfect fit for a hole in the wall-- they just need an espresso maker. They can sell coladas (not the pineapple kind but the brew that comes with a bunch of thimble sized cups). And they should be open during the day. Maybe not all day, but definitely mornings and afternoons.
There is a place in New York off 6th on 26th street called the Antique Cafe (because of the flea market that happens in the parking lot every weekend). It is in the photo district and when I am there, it's the perfect place to pick up coffee, yogurt, muffins bagels breakfast to go. At 11 am, they ditch all the breakfast stuff and replace it with soups, salad and sandwiches. Works great. Actually there are a lot of places like that in NYC. There is even a place that shares itself between 2 restaurant concepts. In the morning it's called The Egg, and it's only open for breakfast. At night, 3x a week another group takes it over and serves home made-style dinner. There's only like 5 tables.
We need that kind of ingenuity.
By the way, speaking of fabulous re-invention, I had dinner at Sammy C on Saturday (where the "Cefalo's market used to be). It is not a part of Cefalo.
It's absolutely fabulous Italian from Jersey! Great prices, and wonderful interiors (and exteriors- great outdoor cafe). Best of all, it does not compete with our other Italian places, each of them is unique and different from each other.

Speaking of grab and go, here's a tip: the Subway on US 1 will take your order by phone. Then you can pick it up at the back door (in front of the Hampton Inn). I highly recommend it.
I have the phone number in my cell and I use it all the time. It's 305 441-2613.
The owner's name is Fran and she is really cool. All of the employees are very polite and courteous, as well. Funny how that works.
Tried the Grab & Go's burger, it is smashing great, thanks for the pos.
The owner (same as NY Pizza) told me tonight that he going to bring in Fresh Bagels in the Morning. Smart move. He is also waiting for his sign. I think he might have the key to success here in the Grove. Lets give him time and support to get started.
