Where were you?

Where were you when it rained today? There was a deluge about half an hour ago. I was just leaving the Shaq 24 Hour Fitness Gym and I ended up waiting it out a bit under the awning between Shaq's and FedEx/Kinko's (looking for the UPS guy) and then I ended up under the old Qdoba area. And finally I made a run for it.

Your should have jumped across the street and scooted under into the Mayfair and joined me for lunch- they have a great Filet Mignon for $13 on the menu and it is not even Miami Spice.

By the way, I know you print the occasional woeful news about a restaurant closing here in the Grove - but, it is not an affliction particular to our village. As per South Florida Gourmet, 5 restaurants recently closed on the beach: OUZO’S, VITA, TOUCH, MAISON D’AZUR and SOCIAL IN MIAMI BEACH

So let's go out an support our Grove restaurants, rain or shine.

Great Pic's.
Coconut Grove is even gorgeous in the Pouring rain.
I'm here in Brooklyn,NY.
We've been having some strange cool weather for August.
Whilst I am Coconut Groves biggest fan in the North, I cant' say I miss it in the Hot Summer month's.
But I blame my own sweat gland's for that, Not Coconut Grove. If I could afford to have someone carry me from the Parking lot to my Balcony seat at Fat Tuesdays then fan me while I sip I would live there year round. :)

I had left work to try Mama Lucy's BBQ for the 2nd straight day only to find out that it is closed on Mondays AND Tuesdays...ugh. Mother Nature has a bad habit of making it rain at 1pm every day when I head out to lunch...

I was at work watching it come down in sheets in the Gables. Speaking of the Mayfair, I hear that they have been remodeling and are featuring new rooms and a new restaurant. Is this true?

Yes - new pool in late fall. New Restaurant- a steak house from NYC in the new year. the entire restaurant is getting redone. I kind of liked the Ginger Grove Decor, but I guess it's not steak-house enough.
