Take Back the Grove meets tonight

Just before the Village Council meeting, you may want to check out the "Take Back the Grove" meeting, which will be at Flavour Night Club (2895 McFarlane Road) tonight at 6 pm.

Join Tony and Matt to discuss the next step in reclaiming the Grove from the City of Miami's clutches. You may sign up here.

I suggest these guys make the meetings on a day or night when the Village Council and the City Commission don't have meetings, which tend to be Thursdays. I think there is a conflict there and many neighbors and even council members might want to check out the "Take Back the Grove" meetings to see what's up, but they are unavailable.

How about Saturday's maybe 11 am or noon? It should also be something informal and not threatening so that folks show up and don't see it as a vigilante group.

Thank you Grapevine. Yes, we are definitely a casual and friendly group. (Hey dude it's the Grove, man).

This will not fail. It is the destiny of this community. It always was. Being part of the City of Miami is temporary. The Grove IS a city of it's own.

There are a couple of naysayers, but they are just negative folks by nature.

And Saturday meetings will also be on our calendar.

All the best to you and your readers.

Thanks so much for keeping all of us advised on the upcoming events!

Wouldn't Saturdays be tough on attendance for folks who are traveling or watching soccer or sailing on the weekends...I think your approach is correct, though. Choose a day that doesn't conflict with other events that town advocates will want to attend.

I haven't clicked over to the other site this week, but wonder if the question of what actual effects (pos and neg) un-annexing will have on Coconut Grove will be addressed this evening?
