Six Grove restaurants part of Miami Spice

The popular Miami Spice starts this Friday, August 1 and there are six restaurants in the Grove as part of the promotion.

It's not easy to be part of Miami Spice, you have to be Zagat-rated and you need to pass Miami Spice's strict guidelines. Many apply, only few are approved.

The Grove restaurants who are part of this year's Miami Spice are:

Baleen at Grove Isle
Bizcaya at the Ritz Carlton
Cita's
Christabelle's Quarter
Focaccia Rustica
Nikki Coconut Grove

In Cita's case, since they are so new, they had to provide dishes from their menu for review, which obviously the judges loved.

Christabelle's Quarter are you kidding me? This is not authentic New Orleans cuisine. The people of that wonderful city should not have imitations going up and selling at over the top prices. The food in Louisiana is much better and it is not over-hyped!

If it is an honor to be part of Miami Spice then tell me how Cita's got on it? They have not been open a week! Unless you pay to get in Miami Spice.

You don't pay to be part of Miami Spice. If that was the case, every dump in Miami would be on the list.

Guess you missed the part where I wrote that they provided samples of their menu and Miami Spice liked what they ate and accepted them into the program.

I do think there is a $900 fee to be a part of Miami Spice though, in addition to the things Grape listed. Im about 95% positive on that. Good to see a lot of Grove restaurants participating.

This one last comment is by the same person who constantly leaves negative and jealous comments about Focaccia. It is killing this person that Focaccia is successful. I gave Daniel the name of this person and he laughed it up. This person is really jealous and can't take other's good will and happiness.

It's a shame there are people like this.

Sounds totally jealous. Out of the whole list I think Focaccia is consistantly the best. Never had a bad meal there.
